Chichester Soccer Club is hosting a Grade 8 Referee Course on May 5th and 6th at the Upper Chichester Rec Center

Chichester Soccer Club is hosting a Grade 8 Referee Course on May 5th and 6th at the Upper Chichester Rec Center.  This course is available to anyone 14 years of age and older.  Successful completion of the course and test will allow the participants to be travel soccer referees.

The course will be conducted by an instructor from Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association Referee Committee (EPSARC).

Successful completion of this course will allow applicants to register and become a travel soccer referee.  Travel soccer referees are paid positions based on the following schedule:

The requirements to attend the training classes take approximately 4 weeks to complete, and include background checks and the completion of on-line modules.

Individuals will also be required to attend classes to be held at Upper Chi Rec Center on May 5th from 9-5, and May 6th from 12-5, and must be 14 or older at the start of class.

Cost to attend the class will be $110.  This includes $100 for the course instruction, and $10 for lunch on Saturday, and snacks and drinks for both days.

This DOES NOT include the cost of the required background checks.

Course Prerequisite Summary

Below is a summary of the requirements to attend this course.  ALL items must be completed prior to the instructor lead course on May 5th.  Proof of completion must be brought to the class and will be verified by the instructor.  NO EXCEPTIONS.   Print off all completion certificates and remember to bring them to class.

Please download and read each of the prerequisite documents provided by EPSARC for further details.  It is important to review the full details as these documents provide detailed instructions on how to complete both the online course modules required prior to the instructor lead course and the exact background investigations that must be completed.

  1. Background Investigations
    1. Adults (18 years of age or older)
      1. PA State Police
        1. Do not use Volunteer, it is  not acceptable
      2. PA Child Abuse
      3. FBI Background Check (PA Child Welfare)
        1. DO NOT DELAY with this requirement.  It will require fingerprinting and can take 3+ weeks to obtain results.
    2. Minors (14-17 years old)
      1. PA State Police
        1. Do not use Volunteer, it is  not acceptable
      2. PA Child Abuse
      3. Disclosure Statement (signed affidavit)
