Cheetahs win back to back Nether Tournaments

posted Apr 11, 2012, 4:10 PM by Chichester SC   [ updated Apr 11, 2012, 4:13 PM ]

Some of the faces have changed but the hard play and results remain the same as the Cheetahs go on to win the 2 consecutive Nether Tournament this past Saturday.  You never know with tournaments who you are really playing, for with guest players the teams sometimes are so different then they are during the regular seasons.  I am happy to say that the Cheetahs had all our players there with no guest players and did what we needed to do to come away with a 2-0-1 record for the day and taking home first place.  The thing that stood out the most to me was that we were no doubt the most conditioned team on the field this Saturday.  There was at no time where a player needed to come out because they were tired or run down and that is something to say after 3 - 50 minute games.  Not bad only allowing 2 goals over three games and both of those goals came in the first half of the first game.  After that the door was shut with the defense and goal tending turning everything that came their direction away.  The mid-field controlled the middle of the field for most of each of the games and our forwards played real well pressuring the offensive zone for the majority of each game.  The big positive I take from this Saturday is that the goals that were scored on us were from mistakes that can and will be corrected.  This Cheetah team has had glimpses of really being a team to be reckon with in our area.   I like to end by thanking all the parents for their dedication to the team, for this is a great group of young ladies that will continue to get better.
